Alma Jacques and her parents, brother and sisters![]() Left to Right, back row: Alma, Francis Xavier Jacques (father), Rose Alma Baraby (mother) front row: Georgiana, Germaine, Blanche, Albert, Jeannie, Helen I know next to nothing about this side of my family.
![]() My grandmother Mary with my great grandmother Alma just after the war Alma was known by all as Mamé, I think it's French for Grandmother.
![]() My great-aunt Anna donated this picture of Alma to the St. Albans Historical Society Museum along with the last quilt she was working on before she died and a quilting rack made by my great-great grandfather Alfred Garceau in 1917 These are currently on display in the "Domestic Room"
![]() I must have been a month old here in 1974 when my grandfather, smiling proudly, placed me in his mother's arms as I screamed as though I were being eviscerated. My poor parents, I was colicky for 6 months. I guess after having that many kids, Mamé thought nothing of a screaming bundle of joy. |
