My uncle Manny is in the front/middle and my mother is in the lower right hand corner next to him. My great aunt Viola is on Gordon's left (not your left) with her arm around him. Ladd Family

The Ladd genealogy was done in large part by Warren Ladd in his book "the Ladd Family", published in 1890 in New Bedford, Mass. You can actually download this book through Google Books. In his book he states that, due to the frequency in which young Ladd men were named John many of them got confused and took a good long time to sort out. This may attest to many of the errors found in the book and plays a part later in this narrative.

It appears that there is a wealth of information on Daniel Ladd, from whom we originate and many trace the beginnings of the Ladd family in England to a group who came over from France with William the Conqueror and were granted land for their support. I wasn't there so I wouldn't know.
