The first thing we had to do was start from scratch so we pulled out everything down to the floor and removed the dishwasher. Behind the cabinets we discovered an access space for running electrical wiring upstairs. This proved handy in the future.

It got a little dusty in there

After leveling the floor and plumbing in the new dishwasher we re-installed the bottom cabinets, new countertop and the sink that I had put in earlier.

This photo makes those 70s dark wood tone oak cabinets look nice. In person they did not. This kitchen doesn't get any sun as it's on the Northern side of the house. With all that dark wood it was a pretty dark room so Bethany decided to paint the cabinets white. I balked at the idea but it turned out much better than I had hoped.
